Carty: Add To Cart Button ("Carty", "the app") is a Shopify app developed by CleverApps. This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and what never leaves your store. Questions any time: support@cleverapps.us.
The short version
- We store your app settings and aggregate sales statistics — nothing else.
- We do not collect, store, or share any personal information about your customers.
- We never sell data, to anyone, for any reason.
Data we receive from merchants
When you install Carty, Shopify shares your store domain and the shop owner's name and email address. We use these to operate your account and answer your support emails. We also store the app settings you configure (button design, texts, feature toggles) and your subscription status. Billing itself is handled entirely by Shopify — we never see payment details.
Data about your customers
None is stored. The app's storefront button adds products to the cart when a shopper clicks it; the app does not identify, track, or profile shoppers, and sets no tracking cookies.
To show you sales statistics, the app processes order information (the products purchased and order totals) when Shopify notifies it of a new order. This is used only to update per-store daily totals — number of orders and revenue generated through Carty buttons — and the order details are then discarded. Customer names, email addresses, shipping addresses, and phone numbers are never read into storage, never retained, and never shared.
To connect an add-to-cart click with a later order, the app briefly keeps an anonymous cart reference (a random cart identifier and product IDs — nothing about the shopper). These records delete themselves after 30 days.
Storage and security
All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Access to our systems is restricted to the app's operator. Our servers are hosted by DigitalOcean.
Retention and deletion
- App settings and aggregate statistics are kept while the app is installed.
- Anonymous cart references delete automatically after 30 days.
- When you uninstall, your subscription link is cleared immediately, and we honour Shopify's data-erasure webhooks: shop data is deleted when Shopify issues the shop redaction request, and customer data requests are trivially satisfied because no customer data is held.
- You can also request access to or deletion of your data at any time by emailing support@cleverapps.us.
Sharing
We do not sell data. We do not share data with third parties, advertisers, or analytics companies. The only party data moves between is Shopify itself, as required for the app to function.

If this policy changes, the update appears on this page with a new date above.
